The Mosaic Practice is a highly specialist assessment and treatment centre for children with complex and profound communication and neurological difficulties. Supporting LEA funded and private clients across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas, we work in a variety of specialist and mainstream settings with children from preschool to young adulthood. Using evidence based approaches we seek out new and innovative ways to support communication in a fun practical way, in order to best support and develop the client’s skills.
We are seeking an enthusiastic SLT with a passion and interest in complex needs to join our expanding team.

As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at The Mosaic Practice, you will shape the way that we provide services to children and families. As you progress with the practice you will have the opportunity to design and develop our specialist preschool services. Joining the supportive and progressive team you will have regular development opportunities, sharing knowledge and expertise through team meetings and supervision sessions.
Our Specialist Speech and Language Therapy role can be a part or full time position (up to 37 hours). Our flexible approach to working enables us to consider part time and full time applicants.
We have support form SLTAs and Admin staff and use technology to ensure we are connected as a team, and working together to improve services for the families we support. We also have a good in house CPD programme and encourage external CPD opportunities to help develop areas of specialism.
The following experience is desirable, but not essential as access to training in all areas can be provided:
- Assessing for, using and implementing AAC.
- Setting up and advising on total communication approaches within mainstream and specialist settings.
- Working in special schools.
- Understanding of language disorder in the context of complex conditions.
- Understanding the impact of brain injury on language development in children and adolescents.
- Supporting students with Autism in preschool, mainstream and specialist settings.
