**The Role**
Hourly rate - £10.78

There is an exciting opportunity for a Shift Lead to join our recently established Wincanton operation in Avonmouth Docks supporting the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC). This is a key role that will be central to the successful delivery of a contract where Wincanton provide warehousing and transport services for goods being delivered in to HPC.

The primary role of the MTO will be to provide front line support for the site management of the S Shed facility contributing to the effective management of all site facilities, Visitor/Contractor Management, and Equipment Care and Maintenance, along with the effective implementation of a safety and security first culture.

There are other Associated Developments in the Avonmouth and wider Somerset area which may require support on an ad hoc basis, so a driving licence is preferable.

The role reports into the Avonmouth Operations Lead.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Play a leading role the Zero Harm agenda with colleagues on site
- Step up to lead the operation in the absence of the Ops Lead
- Ensure a clear operational plan is communicated so that all employees are clear about their expected targets
- Manage site visitors and contractors and carry out site inductions and relevant permits
- Identify and escalate any Site maintenance concerns and carry out regular site inspections.
- 100% accuracy in all aspects of the operation
- Establish priorities and communicate them effectively
- Identify, evaluate, address and communicate any potential problems and risks to colleagues
- Continuously monitor performance and refresh plans accordingly
- Liaise with customer, colleagues and other third parties to exceed customer expectations
- Be visible, lead by example and promote the standards of NNB / EDF and Wincanton

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Experience of a secure warehouse environment, including understanding of warehouse management systems and previous successful experience of leading a team
- Experience of working within a secure operating environment
- IOSH qualification desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem-solving skills
- Understanding of Quality Management and of what good looks like would be a distinct advantage
- Ability to analyse data and make recommendations
- FLT and Reach Truck license advantageous as this will be a part productive role
- Customer focused and able to build effective relationships with team, client and other third parties
- Enthusiastic, committed and able to respond positively to changing demands
