Children's Support Worker

As a support worker with Athena Care Group, you will be playing a huge part in shaping and supporting the lives of our Children and Young People. In our homes, everyday is different but the consistent dedication and commitment shown by our colleagues to make an impact on the lives of our children and young people is unwavering, supporting them to achieve the best possible outcomes in their childhoods and preparing them for future life.
At Athena Care Group, we specialise in trauma informed, outcome focused care across out 5 homes. Supporting our children and young people to work through their backgrounds and achieve the best possible outcomes and as a support worker, you will be a crucial part of making this happen
We are looking for Support Workers to join our Children’s Residential Home teams in Neath and Port Talbot, whether you are an experienced Support Worker or are looking for a career change. To succeed, you will be:
- Child centred, confident and able to support our children and young people with their needs
- Willing to learn more about the industry and the children in our care to maximise their life chances
- Strong team working skills and the ability to establish and maintain trusting, positive relationships with children and young people
- Understanding of and promote safeguarding to protect the welfare of each young person in our care.
In return, we offer:
- A basic salary of £18,684 - £21,964 (depending on qualifications) plus overtime
- A fluid rota with 14 days per month off, given 4-8 weeks in advance so that you can maintain adequate work/life balance.
- Support in career progression through ongoing training, with nationally recognised qualifications paid for by us

**Education**:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- QCF Level 3 Health & Social Care, Children & Young People (preferred)
