**START DATE **1st June 2023

**MAIN PURPOSE **To deliver the Estate’s deer management objectives and to

occasionally assist the Head Gamekeeper at Baronscourt Estate with all game keeping and other Estate duties

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES ** **Deliver the Estate’s deer management objectives,**

namely to reduce browsing pressure to levels conducive to successful natural regeneration of the Estate’s forestry resource
- To maintain cull statistics
- To appropriately and competently prepare and deliver carcasses to the AGHE for butchery
- To assist with the operation and maintenance of the

AGHE
- To liaise with neighbouring landowners and stakeholders in the delivery of the cull
- Occasionally guide stalking guests
- Maintain and enhance deer stalking infrastructure such as high seats, deer lawns/rides
- Deer management and vermin control
- Any other duties required by the Head Gamekeeper within the Game or other Estate departments
- To reside on or in close proximity to the Estate

**REMUNERATION **A competitive remuneration package complete with

accommodation and vehicle (if needed) will be provided.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION - DEERSTALKER**

Applicants for this position should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

- Significant experience in deer stalking, ideally with experience of Sika deer
- Possess minimum Deerstalking Certificate Level 2
- Experience in tractor driving
- Chainsaw, ATV and spray qualifications desirable
- Experience in deer fence/livestock fencing maintenance/repair desirable
- Experience in gamekeeping desirable
- Experience in ATV operation
- Possess a full driving licence and firearms certificate
- Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate initiative
- Experience of guiding stalkers desirable

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
