Brunelcare has an exciting opportunity for a Fire Door Inspection and Repairs Operative to join our friendly team.

This exciting new role will give you the opportunity to work across our sites and carry out inspections on fire doors to ensure their compliance with regulations.

**About the role**

This new role within our team will be our in house lead on ensuring our fire doors are compliant. You’ll inspect, arrange and monitor works completed on the doors and record certification of compliance.

Alongside inspecting fire doors you will also ensure our other passive and active fire components are in good condition and provide reports to the compliance manager. You will also:

- Undertake site-based follow up inspections to validate the delivery requirements relating to fire risk assessment remedial actions.
- Record all inspections, recommendations and remedial actions ensuring a robust audit trail of works undertaken, offering robust advice and recommendations relating to the fire doors.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the Charity as a whole to inform key decisions regarding fire doors and to have detailed technical knowledge and competence in the compliance of fire doors.
- Complete compliant door repairs identified following inspection including easing/ adjusting doors, and fitting of smoke seals, intumescent strips, self-closing devices, fire retardant letter plates etc
- Liaise with the enforcing authorities, organisations and partners in relation to health and safety issues and compliance related matters as required.

**About you**

An positive and proactive individual, you’ll have experience of fire door inspections or building surveying. You’ll also have demonstrable experience of developing, implementing and maintaining a door inspection and repair programme.

Ideally, you will have a BM TRADA or be willing to work towards this. You will need to have a working knowledge of current Health & Safety and other relevant legislation inclusive of the Building Safety Act 2022

As you will need to travel between our sites it’s essential that you hold a current full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
