**Job Summary**:
- To save life in the event of an aircraft accident/incident on or in the immediate vicinity of the aerodrome.
- To provide fire cover for all licensed public transport movements.
- Attend a variety of incidents including aircraft-related emergencies and first aid calls.
- To maintain operational readiness of all resources.
- Other duties to include: Aircraft refuelling, ramp operations, bird control and security.
- Maintain a high standard of competence by participating in a comprehensive on-station training programme in addition to a revalidation course every 4 years at the international fire training centre.**Essential attributes**:
- A good standard of education with GCSE’s in Maths & English A-C
- A full clean driving licence (DVLA check will be carried out)
- Category C driving licence (preferred, but courses may be provided)
- First aid at work
- Must have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be medically and physically fit.
- Be eligible to pass a ‘basic disclosure’ background check.
**Essential Experience**:
- CAA Firefighter aviation certificate would be beneficial.
- Competent Local Authority firefighters may be eligible to attend a 2-week aviation bridging course at an approved training establishment.
**Main tasks**:
- Respond immediately to all types of emergency.
- Assist with routine test and inspections of fire service appliance and equipment.
- Provide evidence through personal training records.
- Maintain high level of competence through regular training (CAP 699 Refers).
- Attend internal/external training courses when required to do so.
- Testing of fire alarm systems and recording appropriately.
- Report immediately any deficiencies/defects to line manager.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Ensure the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act, Civil Aviation Authority directives and airport policies, procedures and regulations are met at all times.
**Other tasks when required**:
- To carry out daily airfield and lighting inspections
- Aerodrome Wildlife Management duties.
- Quality control of aviation fuel.
- Delivering aviation fuel to based operators and visiting aircraft.
- Secure restricted zones, searching passengers and baggage.
- Ground operations including aircraft towing and marshalling.
- Carrying out other airfield duties when required.

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
