**The Junior Buyer Role**
Working as a member of our procurement team, the Junior Buyer will support the site operations procurement strategy. This position will be integral to the overall success of our business. It will be instrumental in helping to coordinate the supply and management of both current and new partners of our supplier base. The primary focus of this role will be dealing with daily operational requirements.

**Junior Buyer Key Duties**
- Managing a portfolio of suppliers, primarily current business partners.
- Assist with managing existing business projects.
- Sourcing and negotiating with existing suppliers, challenging prices where relevant.
- Ensuring supplies adhere to quality, service, and best practise initiatives.
- Negotiate and monitor stock levels.
- Managing performance of the supplier base.
- Assisting with product enquiries and ad-hoc project work.
- Purchasing of standard and non-standard stock items.
- Undertaking stock control and administration activities.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of our product ranges.
- Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Carrying out supplier benchmarking activities.
- Reporting and statistical analysis.
- Upholding procurement strategy.
- Maximising profitability and minimising risk to the Business.
- A minimum of 1 year procurement experience.
- Have some knowledge and experience and exposure to the key duties indicated above.
- We are a reasonably fast-paced sales led manufacturing business, so although identical experience is not essential, any synergy would be beneficial.
- Have strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to, at times, perform under pressure and fulfil exacting timeframes.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills that will assist you to work effectively with a wide range of colleagues and departments.
- Have already gained CIPS accreditation via previous studies but if not, we do as a business offer a pathway to do so.

**Hours**

This role will be based at our site on Southgate, Morecambe.

Working a 40hr week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7.30am-4.30pm, Wednesday 7.00am-4.00pm and Friday 7.00am-14.45pm.

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
