Assistant Caretaker

**An opportunity has arisen for an efficient, reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our hardworking premises team working mainly in the afternoon and evening. We are looking for someone who will be proactive and take pride in maintaining a secure, safe, clean and attractive school environment for everyone.**

**Main duties will be the security of the school’s buildings and grounds, general maintenance and repairs, porterage of parcels, furniture & equipment and other general caretaking tasks.**

**The basic hours for this post are 12.30pm to 6.00pm during the week, with some flexibility required during school holidays and to cover for colleagues.**
- **have good DIY skills and be able to carry out minor repairs and jobs competently**
- **be flexible and proactive in helping to maintain a secure, safe and clean school**
- **be willing to undertake training relating to health & safety and site management**
**Previous caretaking experience is desirable but not essential, however a reasonable level of technical ability in routine maintenance and handy-person skills is required.**

- Student numbers increased from September 2018, and to support this a brand new 10 classroom teaching block was opened along with an additional science lab, expanded dining facilities and a new staff car park.
- As the lead school of the North Herts. Teaching Alliance, we are now working collaboratively with more than 12 local schools and this number continues to grow.
