Job role:
1. Undertake cleaning and domestic duties of all publicareas, offices, domestic flats when void and communal areas that include:
- Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles,transporting waste material to refuse collection point
- Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops
- Mopping floors with wet or damp mops
- Vacuum clean carpeted areas and spot cleaning carpets
- Dust, damp wipe, wash or polish the furniture, ledges, windowsills, external surfaces of: - cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments.
- Replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, papertowels)
- Clean toilets, hand basins and sinks
- Undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaningas necessary
- Washing any laundry required.

2. Ensure that cleaning equipment is maintained andadequate materials are available at the beginning of each shift.

3. Cleaning Void Flats ready for new occupant includingremoving any rubbish, cleaning the bathroom and toilet, cleaning the fridge,hoovering the floor and make up beds.

4. Report all breakages, defects and areas of concern tothe Manager

5. Complete record sheets in line with procedures.

6. Carry out all reasonable duties as required by theManager.

7. Undertake minor maintenance tasks if required (e.g.painting, change light bulbs etc which will include use of step ladders).

8. Support and encourage residents and staff to keep roomsand areas clean and tidy.

9. Be prepared to work at other locations as necessary.

General

Experience / Qualifications

Essential

Desirable

NVQ level 2 in Cleaning Services or equivalent

Current first aid qualification

Experience of working in a culturally diverse area and a commitment to equal opportunities in the workplace which creates a welcoming environment for people of all faiths and of none.

Skills / Knowledge

Basic knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations as they relate to the operation of cleaning equipment and the dilution of cleaning materials.

Ability to understand COSHH Regulations

Basic standard of literacy to read and understand instructions

Ability to carry out cleaning and domestic work to a high standard, including use of machinery (e.g. buffer machine, wet vac)
