ITV is on a digital transformation with data and insight at the centre of change. ITV’s Insight Group will lead the business in putting insight, powered by research and data, in every key decision. What content should we commission? Which audience is most commercially attractive for us? How do we optimise our product to improve view through rates? The answers to these questions and more will enable ITV to succeed in the future, and this role needs to enable decision makers to make them well.

As continue to grow our Insights function, we are recruiting a Head of Commercial Insights. This role is responsible for developing and executing data-driven insights strategies which delivers improved decision making and business growth for the Commercial team. Develop compelling insights and activations that defends and grows

investment in ITV’s portfolio of broadcast and streaming advertising opportunities.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Stakeholder Partnership**:

- Develop and deliver robust and scalable processes for delivering both automated and curated insights - balancing the needs of business stakeholders whilst also challenging their thinking
- Partner with business stakeholders in Commercial - including Trading, Advanced Advertising, Partnership Sales, Creative Partnerships, Operations and Technology - to demonstrate the value of insights in their decision making processes
- Work closely with the Commercial Client Strategy & Planning team to develop and prioritise the insights roadmap

**Deliver Business Outcomes**:

- Blend the best of audience research, data analytics and data science to give insight which delivers the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ and the ‘what next’
- Democratising data and insights - making it available, accessible and usable by the business to make timely decisions independently
- Empower the teams to develop data driven stories which enable the business to make better decisions and realise value
- Visually represent data to drive clear business decisions and action
- Responsible for overall roadmap and resource planning, working with a delivery/project lead and other functional leads

**Cross-functional Collaboration**:

- Work with fellow Heads of Insights in other domains and Head of Central Insights to realise synergies and consistency between teams
- Work closely with the Insights Capability team to standardise tools to support data analysis, reporting, experimentation and ensure all tracking is implemented to the required data quality
- Consult and partner with data governance and technology teams

**Team Leadership**:

- Cross functional line management responsibility for researchers, data analysts and data scientists in the team
- Develop career paths and development programs for talent, working with senior functional specialists
- Foster a culture of curiosity, continuous learning and innovation

Examples of recent and ongoing insight-driven Commercial initiatives include proving and narrating the incremental and complementary impact of ITVX on linear and other digital media investment; creating and sharing unique insights about TV and streaming audiences, driving ITV Media thought leadership and supporting pitch briefs; commission research studies into key advertising industry trends; report on ITV performance vs other media channels to discover opportunities and inform Commercial priorities; and adopt new innovations that combine research, data and automation.

**Skills You’ll Need (minimum role criteria)**:

- Deep knowledge of the commercial media landscape; the role of TV on media plans; agency approaches to planning and buying media; and specific challenges facing TV
- Familiarity with core TV and advertising-related datasets and audience measurement approaches, e.g. BARB
- Some knowledge of how TV is traded (preferable, but not required)
- Ability to provide clear leadership and ambition for the Commercial insights team, setting clear objectives and motivating team members to achieve goals
