Kingcome Sofas are a long established and highly regarded maker of luxury upholstered sofas and chairs. These are handmade in our workshop at Heathfield, Newton Abbot (easy A38 access and onsite parking), where we employ over forty people.

We are looking for an experienced sewing machinist.

You will be a machinist who is able to use walking foot / flatbed piping / overlocking.

The fabrics you will be sewing will vary greatly, but many are high end fabrics and include velvets.

You must be happy to work as part of a team, with your fellow machinists, fabric cutters and upholsterers.

Our furniture is a very high end product, so you will need to be quality conscious, with a discerning eye for detail and quality of finish.

We are a friendly company, with many longstanding staff. The culture is more that of a workshop than of a factory.

Our standard full time working week is a four day working week, being 7am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday. However, we are happy to be flexible regarding part time hours.

Starting pay is dependent on your work experience, but would be a minimum of £11.60 per hour, to be reviewed and increased after a successful 3 month probationary period.
