**What we’re looking for**

This is an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our team.
As a Technician in Charge, you’ll play a part in keeping some of the UK’s biggest brands on the road. You will be assisting the Garage Manager daily in the garage which includes planning and balancing the workload whilst also responsible for conducting inspections, maintenance, repair, and servicing of customers’ fleets.

**What you’ll do**
- Assist the Garage Manager in planning and balancing the workload as appropriate and update on a daily basis
- Advise Garage Manager when vehicles not presented for service at the appropriate time and it has not been possible to re-book
- Ensure that store provision is matched to planned work and assist in carrying out stores checks as required
- Carrying out all classes of skilled work, involved in the inspection, maintenance and complete overhaul of vehicles and mechanical aids, including mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis, overhauling electrical equipment and components, welding, body repairs and painting, inspection and gauging of parts before and after machine setting and operating machine tools as required
- Ensure that all documentation and procedures are properly maintained in accordance with company requirements
- Perform quality checks on the standard of vehicle maintenance and ensure that corrective action is taken when necessary
- Oversee maintenance of fuel installation as required; including ensuring any fuel receipt/issue is carried out effectively
- Maximise workshop efficiency, which may involve work normally carried out by Technicians
- May be required to substitute for the Garage Manager
- Carry out work as directed by Head Office within normal grade job skills
- Working at all times in accordance of company's safety policy and legal requirements

**What you’ve got**
- Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance Repair, or considered qualified by experience
- Experience of leading or supporting the running of a Workshop
- Excellent customer service mindset
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and effectively
- Must be hardworking and self-motivated and a productive Technician
- Ability to tackle all aspects of repair and servicing
- Diagnostics skills/qualifications - desirable
- Fleet experience

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £35,317.00 per year
