We have an exciting opportunity in theatre for a highly motivated self directed worker to fill the vacancy of Commodities Co-ordinator.

A flexible approach to work is essential, together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good knowledge of working with IT systems.

The post holder will work within the scope of the Health board and adopt their values and working practices.

The post holder will be responsible for organising, processing an effective Loan equipment and consignment service for theatres. The post holder will manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the Loan Equipment and ensure that loan items required from external partners are delivered to the theatre department.

The post holder will be required to be responsible for the day to day ordering of all theatre stock and consignment implants including anaesthetic and recovery stock via the effective use of the Oracle system.

The post holder will act as the first point of contact for all supplier representatives. Work within a multi-disciplinary group to aid communication, both verbal and written, ensuring effective running in the theatre. Liaise with support services, both within the hospital (HSDU) and external, which supply services and equipment.

The post holder will be responsible to ensure that all stock deliveries are checked against the delivery notes and stored in the appropriate areas.

The post holder is required to use their own initiative to make decisions that best suit the departments Procurement needs. Line managers are available for advice and support, but do not directly supervise the post holder's work being undertaken.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

- Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
- Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
- 48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
- Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
- Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales
