BioVue Scheduling Coordinator
As QuidelOrtho continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a BioVue Scheduling Coordinator to join our Quality - BioVue QC department in Pencoed on a permanent basis. This role will work on a standard work week.
About QuidelOrtho, Pencoed:
QuidelOrtho has been manufacturing products in South Wales for over 40 years. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, based in Pencoed, employs over 500 people who are involved in the manufacture and supply of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products to a global customer base.
Our Pencoed team manufacture a large menu of immunoassay products encompassing a range of disease categories.
We are proud to be a global hub for critical manufacturing lines, and we have recently expanded our capabilities with three new state-of-the-art manufacturing lines to produce a comprehensive suite of immunohematology products for blood typing and crossmatching of blood donor units. On site we have a range of functions operating globally & locally. All our employees are working towards one common goal, to help save and improve lives through diagnostics.
Your new role:
As a BioVue Scheduling Coordinator at QuidelOrtho, you will work as part of the operational team at the Pencoed manufacturing site with the primary responsibility to carry out the routine testing and quality control of the range of immunodiagnostics products.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Organise all area testing to ensure all material is available for production and all shipping targets are achieved for finished goods.
- Communicate effectively to each shift to ensure testing is completed on schedule. Complete batch records and be accountable for secondary review of completed testing results. Participate in daily shop floor work
- flow planning to support production plans.
- Ensure all material is available for routine testing. Maintain reagent ordering, blood sample ordering and complete regular stock checks. Arrange routine in-house bleeds.
- Complete routine quality control testing of raw materials, bulk solutions and finished product, in accordance with cGMP and GLP, to ensure the quality of BioVue cassettes manufactured at Pencoed. Identify any anomalous results and perform first level investigation work in line with area reaction plans. Empowered to halt processes and raise deviation records following anomalous observations.
- Design of experiment and perform investigative work in response to customer complaints. Write and design testing reports for completed investigation work. Perform and report NEQAS testing.
- Participate in the set-up of new production procedures and processes.
- Lead training of staff and maintain area training records.
- Record, review, and act on local area metrics. Understand the use of SPC.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Scientific degree or 5 years lab experience is required.
- Experience working in Haematology laboratory and >2 years’ experience within QuidelOrtho.
- Organising - Manages work and time effectively to maximise business results.
- Problem solving - Demonstrates competent structured problem-solving skills.
- Communication - Uses appropriate tools and techniques to communicate with peers and line management within and across function.
- Knowledge of BioVue product specifically and its impact on patients.
- Teamwork - Ability to work effectively in groups and as an individual.
- Detailed technical knowledge of BioVue products and their associated processes and procedures is required.
