Provide clinical leadership to manage and deliver the inpatient neuropsychological rehabilitation service on the Rehabilitation Unit to provide high quality care to all patients. Use a range of psychological assessment and intervention strategies with the ability to integrate complex data from a variety of sources. Act as a source of expertise on the management of neurological patients, providing support and advice to health professionals both within the service and the wider MDT. Contribute to operational service planning and delivery of the neuropsychology service.

Participate in education and training of clinical psychologists, neuropsychology assistants and other healthcare professionals in the management of psychological disorders. Keep informed of developments within professional clinical practice relevant to this area of neuropsychology and to support the team in incorporating this into local practice as appropriate. Work independently and within the MDT, managing discharge, transition home and onward referrals of patients, including involvement in complex patients. Provide support and advice to doctors, nursing staff, allied health professionals, patients, and their families/carers.

Attend family meetings and MDM discussions and provide joint sessions with physicians / therapists where appropriate, in order to deliver an integrated and collaborative rehabilitation service. Participate in identifying clinical research and audit priorities to drive the neuropsychology clinical development strategy. Assist with the collection and evaluation of capacity, productivity, quality, and other relevant data. Support the Lead Neuropsychologist in the development and delivery of innovative service improvement projects focussed on improving quality of care and patient outcomes.

Liaise with senior management team, MDT, Clinical Leads, Liaison Psychiatry and Safeguarding teams to support psychological risk management on the unit. Ensure appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond to identified risks. With the senior management team, Lead Neuropsychologist and MDT, contribute to the development of guidance and policies on issues relating to neuropsychology, e.g., MCA, DoLS.

Work within identified scope of practice and the Health and Care Professions Council Standards of Practice. Adhere to personal and professional standards, which reflect credit on the profession and encourage others to do likewise. Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work, ensuring a high standard of clinical care for patients under own management and supporting others to do likewise.
