Public education and engagement is fundamental to the **Lincolnshire Waste Partnership (LWP)** being able to successfully deliver its objectives through working effectively with the people of **Lincolnshire **in a timely and cost effective manner.

People are at the epicentre of our delivery and excellent customer service is paramount. As a **Performance and Improvement Assistant**, you would play a vital role in educating and advising residents on their household waste recycling collection.

**About the role**:
**Here's what you will be doing to contribute to the objectives of the LWP**:

- Responding to customer enquiries on a day-to-day basis. This requires excellent communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of waste management practices. By providing accurate and helpful information, you can address residents' concerns and educate them on proper waste disposal methods.
- Offer guidance and education to residents regarding their household waste recycling collection. This is key to improving the quality of waste disposed and would involve explaining recycling guidelines, providing tips for waste reduction, and promoting sustainable behaviours.
- Working closely with the seven District Councils, providing support to ensure a coordinated and efficient waste management system. This may involve sharing knowledge, gathering feedback, and identifying areas for improvement in the waste disposal process.
- Create work packages and manage the schools ‘Lets Talk Rubbish’ programme and events engagement calendar for the Performance and Improvement Officers.

**About you**:
You will need previous experience in customer service, especially going the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. You will be confident in addressing customer enquiries and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. Able to build positive working relationships though your people skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport quickly with residents and colleagues always remaining professional.

**What you will need to demonstrate**:

- Communication Skills - Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for effectively dealing with customer enquiries from residents and liaising with district councils. Clear and concise communication is vital in ensuring accurate information is conveyed and understood.
- Teamwork - Being able to contribute to and develop effective teamwork is important for collaborating with colleagues, district councils, and other stakeholders. This includes actively participating in team discussions, sharing ideas, and working together towards common goals.
- Continuous Improvement - Actively seeking feedback from residents and monitoring trends in customer enquiries can provide valuable insights for improving waste management practices.
- Data Analysis - The ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data is necessary for assessing waste management performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Solutions focussed - By promptly addressing customer enquiries and providing accurate information, you contribute to the overall efficiency of waste management operations. This helps residents make informed decisions and reduces the potential for improper waste disposal, ultimately saving costs associated with waste management.

**About the team**:
Well, **Lincolnshire County Council** employs around 5,500 people across the county, so, lets just stick with who your usual colleagues are. You will be part of the **Waste Services** team that deliver a multitude of services and sits within the wider **Place Directorate.**

We have a really positive team culture and are constantly talking to each other even though some of the team are office based or out and about in the community. We get together regularly at team meetings and other ad-hoc opportunities so you will be well supported as a member of the team by colleagues who have your best interests at heart. We catch up outside of work too, but our social outings are not mandatory, but we do want you to feel that you are the part of the team and join us if you can, no pressure.

Given the occasional need to travel across** Lincolnshire**, a valid driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable.** Waste Services** will cover mileage expenses.
