Precision Investment Castings Ltd, part of the Erlson Group, is a manufacturing company based in Altrincham, specialising in steel & aluminium castings for the Aerospace, Defence and Oil and Gas Industries. Casting is a traditional process that has existed since c.3000 years BC and this is an opportunity to join a unique, rewarding and interesting area of precision engineering.

We currently have vacancies for diligent, flexible individuals who are keen to become an integral part of our highly experienced foundry team. Suitable applicants will be able to work on their own initiative, work to high production standards, work at a fast pace with accuracy and have good dexterity and excellent attention to detail. The role will involve working with hot (molten) metal in a foundry, which will require a degree of tolerance to hot environments. The role will involve lifting and pouring which requires a good degree of physical strength. Previous foundry experience is desirable.

**Main Duties**:

- Aluminium casting and ladling techniques
- Mould carrying and positioning ready for casting
- Mould pouring best practice
- Degassing & Gas checks of non-ferrous metals
- Steel Pyrometer & Temperature Checking
- Autoclave - de-waxing
- Mould prep piping and claying
- Pre heat oven loading/cold & hot - Barring in and out
- Furnace re-lines and furnace best practice
- Furnace roll over preparation
- Route cards & metal traceability - ideally in an AS9100 Aerospace company

**Other Responsibilities**
- Ensuring safety of self and others in the working area
- Ensuring prep for casting is completed prior to casting
- Efficient and safe casting of the moulds
- Post activity after cool down ensuring high standards of housekeeping are maintained
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements

**Skills & Requirements**
- Good communication and interpersonal skills - Essential

- High school education - Essential
- Proven experience as a foundry operative - Preferred
- Expertise in technical, engineering/relevant field - Preferred

**Pay & Benefits**

Night Shift consists of 4 x 10 hour shifts, Pay £12.15 per hour plus 30% night shift supplement

Day Shift 4 x 10 hours shifts, Pay £12.15 per hour

20 day holiday per year + 8 Bank/Public Holidays (based on 4 shifts per week)

Life Assurance - Salary x 2.5

**Salary**: £12.15-£15.79 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
