**Location of the Job**:Surrey.

**Salary**:£25,000 - £27,000 basic salary depending on experience.

**The Role**:
A fantastic opportunity has now become available for an Assistant Forester / Forestry Assistant in Surrey.

Working for a privately owned Estate consisting of residential and commercial properties, forestry, fisheries and a trout farm located in Surrey.

The Estate covers approximately 3,000 acres with around 1,500 acres of mixed woodland including commercial plantations, native broadleaves, park and heathland.

**The duties will be very variable but will involve the following**:

- Establishment of new plantations including planting, fencing, weed control (mechanical and chemical), mechanical cleaning, respacing, brashing and early thinning's.
- Manual thinning and felling of trees where required.
- Use of tractor winches, swipes, and other tractor mounted equipment.
- Use of firewood machines, loading and delivery of firewood.
- Conservation, amenity, and environmental projects to increase biodiversity.
- Compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Other general estate duties as necessary.
