Good Food Wines is an independent supplier of alcohol products including wines, liqueurs, beers, ciders, spirits and vinegars to some of the most prestigious names in the food manufacturing industry.

We are seeking an experienced Food Technologist to join our Technical Team at our production facility in Rochester, North Kent. We are looking for a committed individual with a strong technical and quality track record within the food and/or drinks manufacturing industry.

**Due to legislation requirements, all applicants need to be 18 years of age or older as the role involves handling alcoholic liquids.**

Reporting to the Technical Manager, this is a customer-facing and varied role that includes:

- Completion of food manufacturers’ specifications and approvals (including completion of risk assessments and supply chain maps), both via customers’ online portals and/or in Word/Excel formats to agreed deadlines.
- Goods-in laboratory product and raw material testing and reporting (liaising with suppliers as necessary) in respect of a range of alcoholic products, vinegars and condiments.
- Provide internal technical assistance to the Commercial and Production teams.
- Conducting internal audits according to the audit schedule, and liaison with the Production team to drive improvement.
- Maintain and keep up-to-date technical databases and resources.
- Logging and investigating complaints to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Assist as necessary in second
- and third-party audits in support of the Technical Manager and/or Senior Technologist.
- Conduct traceability exercises according to internal schedule and at customer request.
- Complete KPI reports.

**Required Skills & Attributes**
- Previous experience (min. 1 year) in a customer-facing technical role within the food and/or drinks industry.
- Hands-on experience with online specifications and approval portals.
- Excellent communications skills, with a good standard of written and spoken English.
- Highly organised and accurate, with good prioritisation and analytical / problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of the team, able to engage and influence within a growing and changing business.
- Flexible and adaptable to variable workloads in a volume environment.
- HACCP Level 2 or higher, and Food Hygiene
- Experience with Internal Audits (GMP).

**Advantageous**
- Experience of or familiarity with ERP-based data management systems, including traceability of materials and packaging.
- Knowledge of food / drinks legislation
- Supplier auditing experience

Full-Time: 40 hrs per week (8am - 5pm Mon-Fri).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
