**Job Purpose**
Reporting to the CENSIS CEO, the Head of CivTech Partnership will be responsible for leading, managing, and nurturing the key strategic relationship between CENSIS, CivTech, The Scottish Government and other stakeholders, contributing to the development of the Scottish Innovation Ecosystem.

The CENSIS Innovation Centre (Centre for Sensor & Imaging Systems & IOT) is an initiative funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), Scottish Enterprise(SE) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE). CENSIS is a project which seeks to encourage innovation within Scottish Industry through collaborative projects with HEIs and through direct support of companies. The CENSIS grant runs until July 2024 (recently extended by 1 year). CENSIS has recently secured a strategically important partnership with CivTech as a leading entity in the Scottish Innovation ecosystem.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Accountable for leading and managing of the CivTech relationship on behalf of CENSIS.

The incumbent will be expected to develop, implement and deliver collaborative and strategic plans between CENSIS and CivTech that includes:
a. Generating and scoping new CivTech Challenges.
b. Delivery of ongoing CivTech challenges, including working with other 3rd party organisations who are co-sponsoring CivTech challenges to ensure effective delivery.
c. Development of commercial investment routes including the exploration of international / external investment opportunities to accelerate the development and growth of CivTech challenge suppliers.
d. Development of new strategic opportunities in areas such as health / social care and smart, small communities resulting in the creation of a portfolio of interrelated CivTech challenges.
e. Development and delivery of a GovTech cluster that delivers sustained value and benefits to CivTech challenge sponsors and suppliers including the potential for international opportunities and partnerships.
f. Supporting the development and growth of a broader innovation eco-system within Scotland.
g. Recognising the novelty of this role and the need for proactive identification and resolution of challenges through creative problem solving and stakeholder engagement.
2. In consultation with the CEO and CENSIS leadership team, shape and lead the implementation of agreed strategic plans to further the CENSIS strategy, and monitor performance against those plans.
3.Identify, develop and leading new projects that have the potential for high impact outcomes for both Civ Tech and CENSIS.
4. Identify and develop new industry and commercial partnerships aligned to the strategic aims and objectives of CivTech / CENSIS
5. Proactively lead the engagement with CENSIS and external entities to ensure effective delivery of collaborative CivTech related objectives and tasks.
6. Contribute to broader CENSIS strategic plans and opportunities.

**Essential**:
A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9, 10 or 11 (Ordinary/Honours Degree, Post Graduate Qualification) or equivalent, including being professionally qualified in relevant discipline with a broad range of professional leadership experience in strategically important specialist areas or, in the absence of specific relevant qualifications, the ability to demonstrate the necessary strategic competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary professional knowledge and leadership experience in a similar or number of different specialist roles.
A2 Thorough and highly developed understanding of the national and international innovation environment and agenda across the public and private sectors gained through previous work experience.
