Our client has been established for almost 60 years and are the UK's leading manufacturer of innovative solutions allied to their niche sector industry and supply throughout the world, and are now seeking to recruit an experienced and proactive TechnicalManager to become involved with all technical aspects of the company product range and their manufacture, ensuring consistency in product quality, ongoing development of the company portfolio and both addressing and managing product failures and any qualityissues that may arise as part of a professional and committed team.

Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):

- Understanding customer specific requirements and providing technical advice as appropriate.
- Raising and maintaining technical specifications and the associated administration of these documents and being involved in all areas of new and existing product development, as well as providing technical support to the Sales team as required.
- Reducing quality failures from the technical perspective and assisting in controlling and reducing waste, as well as participating in RCA and investigations of a technical nature on production machinery and processes.
- Dealing with technical aspects of customer complaints such as investigating their validity, consulting with the customer throughout the process and raising and progressing corrective actions before compiling summary reports suitable for both internal andexternal use.
- Evaluating raw materials and customer supplied samples and arranging credits in the event of faulty materials having been supplied.
- Assisting in the management and improvement of the technical department's quality control responsibilities including quality control of raw material, in process items and finished products, test and everyday trouble shooting on matters of a technical nature.
- Raising and overseeing trial production runs and reporting the outcomes and investigating product failures, performing RCA and deciding courses of action to be taken with failed materials such as return to supplier, seek concession, rework, re
- assign useor scrap, before raising appropriate corrective actions and overseeing the completion of said actions.
- Management of held stock (Inspection pending, DMRs and RMAs) using the established procedures and working with the team to find ways of utilising held items and where necessary the raising and management of scrap requests.
- Keeping up to date with regulatory technical issues that may impact upon the business and being involved with audits from customers, suppliers and other recognised bodies as required in addition to responding to compliance enquiries such as ROHS, Composition65,FSC, UK REACH, conflicts of minerals etc as they may arise.

To be considered for this exceptional Technical Manager opportunity within an established and highly successful operation, in addition to the Chemistry qualifications and proven manufacturing sector management experience, you will need to be flexible totravel on occasions to meet with both customers and suppliers (including overseas travel) and will possess a demonstrable knowledge of raw materials including silicon and manufacturing methods and processes, with knowledge of adhesives, paper and coatingsproving distinctly advantageous. You will be a skilled communicator and manager with a logical and systematic approach to problem solving as well as being able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment,and will live within a commutable radius of Chipping Norton, Morton-In-Marsh or Stow on the Wold.
