Grounds Maintenance Worker

**M.I.B Services Grounds Maintenance Contractor**

We have an opportunity for a Driver / Landscaper to join our team. 3 years’ experience in Landscaping and driving is required for this position as well as a full clean driving licence. Minimum age of 25 is required for vehicle insurance purposes.

M.I.B Services is a small family run business which has been established for 20+ years and based in Galashiels.

We carry out commercial contract grounds maintenance in Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian, West Lothian and the Borders. We contract to numerous Property Management & Factoring companies, Resident Association run housing developments and factory grounds. Our sites range from small, flatted developments to large high end private housing developments.

The position is based on 24 hours per week on an annualised hours contract, giving all year-round employment. **The 24 hours will be over 3 days between Monday - Friday, the days to be worked can be negotiable.**

Experience is required in mowing, strimming, and general landscape maintenance,

PA1 / PA6 advantageous but not essential.

A genuine interest in horticultural, landscaping and groundsman ship and a strong will to learn.

Reliable, energetic, enthusiastic, and hard working. Ideally technically adept with I.C.E. machines, or the interest in them to learn how they work.

A polite and courteous manner as you will be working and engaging with the residents of our developments.

Duties will include:

- Machine operating, Mowers, strimmer’s, hedge cutters, blowers etc.
- Grass works, including mowing and strimming, hedge cutting and shrub pruning.
- Shrub bed works pruning, weeding, spraying, grubbing, and edging.
- Working as part of a team or on your own.
- Good “housekeeping” tidying up of job sites and developments.
- Tree works, felling, pruning, crown reductions and lifts.
- Machine maintenance, cleaning, servicing, and repairing.

Hour of work: Mon - Fri (occasional Saturdays may be required), hours are “as required to finish” the days allocated sites. This in general means some longer days during our very busy spells throughout the Spring, Summer, and Autumn months and less in the Winter months.

Rate of Pay up to: £15,625.00 per annum**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.00-£12.50 per hour
