
Head of Wellbeing and Community Engagement

To provide a strategic lead across Havens Hospices representing the holistic wellbeing including psychological, spiritual
and social needs of patients, their families, and carers. Ensuring that psychological teams are integrated across all care services. Driving personalised care, equality, and co-production.
- To work closely as part of the Leadership Team with the Director of Clinical Services to implement the organisational strategy, agreeing on objectives and ensuring these are met.
- To support the development of the organisational strategy as part of the senior leadership team.
- To promote an understanding of the psychological, social and spiritual issues facing patients, their carers and families, including the needs of children & young people.
- To lead in the research, organisation, planning, development and implementation of a robust strategy to ensure equality of access to all Havens Hospices clinical and related services.
- To keep up to date with national agendas and relevant professional developments, analyse their impact on Havens Hospices and formulate plans to address these.
- To build strategic partnerships with relevant voluntary and statutory agencies in the community and wider.
- To enhance the profile of Wellbeing and Hub services by presenting at conferences, engaging with media and comms when required.
- As a senior professional within the organisation to provide peer support to other heads of service and to support the needs of any service when required.
**Principal Responsibilities**:
Strategic

Leadership & Management
- To provide leadership in the management of change as Havens Hospices strategy is implemented.
- To manage, develop, support, and lead an informed Wellbeing and hub service working across care to ensure the services are integrated
- To develop and lead a care wide inclusion and engagement strategy
- To plan, develop and evaluate the work of the service through Personal Development Reviews, objective setting, and mentoring.
- To work with income generation teams to develop funding proposals and pursue potential contracts for income generating opportunities.
- To ensure that Wellbeing and hub services adhere to Havens Hospice management and HR policies, procedures, and guidelines, liaising with the HR team.
- To set up and manage contracts and joint working arrangements as required.
- To work with the People Development team to ensure that internal and external training programmes reflect the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients, their families and Carers.
Strategic inclusion and engagement lead
- To be the strategic lead for inclusion and engagement across care.
- To ensure that Havens policies, procedures and training plans are robust, fit for purpose, reviewed, and updated in line with policy review guidance and national guidelines.
- To workwith Heads of care to ensure that services are free from barriers, connected with the community and engaged with system networks
- To take part in inclusion network meetings and supervision
- To keep up to date with the outcomes of serious case reviews and changes in legislation and guidance and to implement any changes in practice or policy as an outcome of this.
Governance and Quality
- To devise and implement a programme of audit and evaluation of the Wellbeing and Hub Services to ensure the optimum use of resources and provision of high-quality services to patients, families, and carers.
- To develop policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe, effective, and forward-thinking service.
- To respond to any quality assurance, clinical governance, or information governance issues sensitively and effectively when they may arise.
- To fulfil timely and relevant reporting requirements e.g. ICB, CQC.
