£22,000 - £26,000 per annum
Based in Chichester, West Sussex, Kiwi Media and Promotions have an exciting opportunity to work across two leading magazines in the Construction & Waste Management industries delivering focused content driven by R&D and new products. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Editor, ideally suited to someone looking to take the next step in their career.
**The Role - Assistant Editor**
**Responsibilities**:
- Taking ownership of magazine content such as company profiles and standalone feature articles, including writing, editing, and obtaining approval of copy.
- Manage the overall editorial production of publications, including flat plans - ensuring print deadlines are met.
- Assisting the editorial team in other processes such as proofreading and managing partnerships with industry events.
- Liaising with the sales and project management departments to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Researching and pitching regular stories across both our websites and magazines.
- Copywriting services when necessary to assist with participating advertisers.
- Organisation & communication with clients on CRM systems for publication content.
- To attend press events and represent the magazine at industry events as required to report on industry events.
- To produce copy for our website, and e-newsletter service, update the website with news, diary events and show information.
**About You**:
- Some experience in an Editorial-based role
- Excellent spelling and grammar
- Pinpoint proofreading
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to write structured news stories.
- You must be able to work well in a team
- Very well organised & able to prioritise your workload efficiently.
- Experience interviewing key industry members (face to face/phone/on video)
- IT skills including Microsoft Office packages and Adobe packages (InDesign/Photoshop)
**Desirable Skills**:
- Social media knowledge/experience of social media platforms; Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter
- WordPress and Photography skills
