**We are looking for positive, compassionate and caring Relief Female Support Workers to join our team in Connor Downs (Between Camborne & Hayle) where we support 3 ladies with a learning disability.**
About our Service
Enjoy an afternoon out window shopping, grab a coffee, create masterpieces with an arts and craft session and explore new places. Support with budgeting, decision making, general day to day activities and inclusion in the community.
- All 3 ladies have very different personalities, likes and dislikes so no day will be the same. So if you are looking for variety, working with a dedicated team and the occasional trip to the theatre, then this is the job for you.
This role will suit an outgoing person who is committed to supporting and encouraging people to achieve their best. Motivate the people we support to look for new and exciting things to do.
- As a Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, there are a variety of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, sleep ins and weekends (You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual).
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Excellent communication skills and Relationship building - supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
