An opportunity has arisen for a senior mental health practitioner within the Carbis Ward at our Longreach site in Redruth.
Carbis ward is an established 15 bed acute admission ward caring for anyone requiring inpatient care, providing wonderful opportunities and facilities for patients. We are striving for our unit to be innovative, creative and recovery focused. Our emphasis is on providing a therapeutic environment, offering a holistic approach to treatment in a safe and supported space which promotes rehabilitation and recovery. We work with various multi disciplinary team professionals, including carers, community staff, occupational therapists and psychologists to ensure effective delivery of care and a planned, safe and timely discharge.

**Main duties of the job**:
The role of Senior mental health practitioner involves working a rotational shift pattern, including day and night shifts, weekends and bank holidays as required.
The post holder will regularly take on the role of shift clinical and operational supervisor, often as the senior nurse on duty (and will regularly deputise for the in-patient Ward Manager) and will plan, monitor and oversee the work of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of
the highest quality of care for adults who have been admitted onto Carbis ward.
The post holder will take an active part in the therapeutic programme, facilitating groups and individual work as necessary.
