**About the role**

You will be working with Primary aged students (3-11 years) with an EHCP statement of Autism within the school's dedicated resource provision for Autism. You will be working with students who may need assistance in areas of speech and language development,cognition and behaviour and so individuals with good behaviour management skills are highly desirable for this role. You will help students with additional needs within the classroom to keep attention during lessons, engage with their peers and help with emotionalregulation i.e. taking students out of the classroom when feeling overwhelmed to help them calm down and regulate by doing sensory activities, breathing exercises and other methods of behaviour de-escalation. Personal care may be required for this role assome students struggle to effectively do this themselves.

**About the school**

This is a mixed mainstream school based in Finchley who cater to primary aged students within mainstream classes as well as having an additional resource provision for students with Autism. There is capacity for 14 students in the resource provision. Theschool is a small one form entry community school set in beautiful grounds in Finchley. They pride themselves on being a friendly, welcoming school and encourage involvement and support from all individuals who are involved in the child's care and education.The children are happy and love to come to school and learn. They make excellent progress and become confident independent learners within a safe, secure and happy environment. In their last OFSTED inspection they were graded Outstanding in all areas.
