**Climate Project Officer x3**:
Starting salary: £39,028 rising to £45,706 - 2 Years FTC

We are looking for three motivated, and organised Project Officers to lead on the delivery London borough's collaborative climate work.

London Councils, which represents London’s Boroughs, have developed a collaborative climate programme to help London boroughs reach their net zero ambitions. Over the next two years we want to accelerate the development and roll out of this programme across London.

We are building a new climate delivery team to work with our lead boroughs and partners to make this happen. These three brand new roles will be crucial in delivering on the climate projects within the climate programme over the next two years.

We are very excited to have funding for six new roles to deliver over the next two years on the pilot of these projects. We are recruiting for three brand new Project Officer roles currently, and successful applicants will work alongside three Programme Managers. You will be managing and delivering on multiple projects across our climate programme, working partly with borough staff, and partly with London Councils’ climate delivery team.

This is an opportunity to work on London’s biggest climate challenges, leveraging the huge delivery and leadership role local government has to play and working with partners across the public, private and third sector.

**What is our climate programme, and who are we?**

London’s boroughs are committed to achieving net zero and climate resilience by working together and with the GLA and Central Government. Our ambition is to achieve net zero in the fastest possible time and with the greatest benefit to all Londoners.

Together we are rolling out a collaborative programme covering every area London needs to achieve net zero and climate resilience. From retrofitting our buildings to make them cheaper to heat and reduce their impact on the environment, to increasing the number of Londoners employed in the green economy, and from ramping up renewable power to ensuring that all new developments have a mínimal carbon footprint, the rapid development of low carbon transport and working with residents and businesses to reduce their consumption-based emissions.

**Our Team**

You will be working split between working with London Councils Climate team, and partly working with the boroughs leading on different themes within the programme.

**Skills and key responsibilities**
- Project planning, delivery and management experience. Convening project partners at each stage of the project to clarify and keep them focused on the project’s key goals and activities
- Strong time management
- Interest and/or experience of project delivery in climate/sustainability area
- Communications skills
- Strong people and collaboration skills
- Data/analysis skills
- Ability to work in a matrix setting (working with multiple teams and managers at once).

You will be working on multiple projects, across the six climate themes.

**Desired experience**
- Strong project management experience
- please note that this doesn’t have to be in a climate/ environment setting
- but you do need to show an interest and understanding of these areas.

This role has no specific closing date.
