Job description
**Faculty of Health and Life Sciences**
- This new full-time post is immediately available until 31 March 2025 on a fixed term basis.
- This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.
**The post**
- The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences / MRC-CMM wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioinformatics to support the work of Dr Tetsu Kudoh, Prof Mark Ramsdale and Dr Rhys Farrer. This NC3Rs funded post is available immediately. The successful applicant will be working on sequence analysis of the thermotolerant Arabian killifish as a novel model for infection studies. They will specifically contribute to genomic analyses including genome assembly, annotation, quality control, functional annotation and enrichment and comparative genomics and transcriptomics. Genomic analyses will be published, and be integrated in an online genome browser, that the successful applicant will also ideally contribute towards.
**About you**
- Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
