Oak Tree Clinic provides a first-class multi-disciplinary service in a relaxing environment. We are focussed on the individual and will serve a wide variety of medical needs. Our services are varied and rapidly growing. They include general and women's health consultations; couples who wish to have male and female fertility checks or have been unsuccessful in having a family; menopause; a comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound service including general medical, pregnancy and gynaecology; urology; chronic pain management; and day case surgery.

**Principal Duties**

Provide professional and administrative duties to an independent healthcare facility, and the private practice of its specialists/consultants.

**The role will involve**:
**Professional Tasks**:

- To work effectively as a team member in providing and facilitating a high standard of nursing, social and rehabilitative support in the clinic, and within general nursing policies, procedures and adhere to statutory policies.
- Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, undertake nursing tasks and participate in planned treatment activities taking account of the fluctuating needs of the patient.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records and report any variances in the patient’s condition to the relevant professional.
- Ensure effective communication with members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain skills and knowledge by attending induction and in-service training, reading relevant publications etc.
- All employees who are required to be a member of a professional body are required to hold relevant registration and must comply with the standards and guidelines of their professional practice, education and conduct and must act at all times within the boundary of the code of conduct.
- To undertake further training to gain skills and knowledge in specific clinical areas.

**Specific areas of Clinical Responsibility**:
As a member of the nursing team, under the direction of a qualified healthcare professional, to assist with:

- Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment. Clean diagnostic and treatment rooms once vacated.
- Stock taking and ordering of consumables and drugs.
- Supporting and assisting clinicians undertaking diagnostic or therapeutic procedures in the clinic.
- Assessing clients’ condition through observation and carry out vital signs monitoring as appropriate, and take appropriate emergency action, advising appropriate trained staff when necessary.
- Taking calls from patients and arranging appointments.
- Experience in administering medication and/or setting up intravenous infusion line are desirable.

**Administrative Tasks**:

- Assisting in the Clinic’s reception area.
- Being the first point of contact for patients, answering the telephone, taking payments and using the clinic’s electronic patients’ records software to book or reschedule appointments.
- Raising invoices and taking payments from patients, and liaise with relevant staff re accounts.
- Managing correspondence.
- Working as part of a team to provide the best service for our clients.
- Carrying out general administrative duties to ensure the effective running of the Clinic.
- Assisting with preparing the necessary documents and liaising where appropriate to facilitate the Clinic’s registration with Health Inspectorate Wales and recognition by Health Insurance companies.
- Attending necessary training courses as and when required.
- Occasional light cleaning duties.

**Requirements**:

- The job description is intended to provide a broad outline of the role. The post holder may be required to work flexibly in the evenings and weekends and carry out other duties commensurate with their banding and competence.
- Well presented with the initiative to work independently to ensure the smooth running of the reception.
- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
- The ability and personality to build a rapport with our patients and team members.
- Friendly, reliable and adaptable.
- Comfortable dealing with patient complaints.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Driving Licence.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Customer service experience, both over the phone and face to face.
