We are looking for a Materials Process Engineer to join our growing Process team. Our Materials Process Engineer will be responsible for controlling and developing the materials manufactured by the company, including how they are made, writing and controllingspecifications, improvement initiatives, developing test methods, testing, etc. The manufacturing process has numerous steps, starting with a têxtile, passing through a number of high temperature processes to create the ceramic composite that is the end product.

**What you’ll be doing as our Materials Process Engineer**:

- Writing and maintaining product material specifications.
- Characterization of materials as required to create specifications.
- Writing and maintaining material specifications at each stage of the production process.
- Developing new methods and materials as required to support product and process development initiatives.
- Working with the process engineering team to develop processes to deliver the desired material properties and characteristics.
- Supporting quality test sampling of materials from the production processes as required.

**The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Materials Process Engineer**:

- Engineering materials to achieve the desired characteristics and performance.
- Materials engineering from scientific first principles.
- Carbon / ceramic materials and how they are made.
- Materials characterisation methodologies.
- Specification setting.
- Materials engineering in a ceramic / composite / carbon environment.
- Development of materials and their properties.
- Project management.
- Analysing data and interpreting results.
- Reporting results and making proposals to improve materials.

**Need to have**:

- Degree in Materials Engineering (or related discipline)
- 3+ years of Chemical Process Engineering experience
- Good understanding of how composite materials and ceramics are processed.

**Nice to have**:

- Masters in Materials Engineering (or related discipline)
- 5+ years of Chemical Process Engineering experience
- Carbon ceramic materials and how they are made.

**Nice to have**:

- Prince2 Project Management qualification
