The Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) Service is a multi-disciplinary team, delivering a high quality, evidence-based intervention to families as requested by Early Help services, social care, health practitioners, schools and settings. The aim of the service is to improve parental/carer sensitivity, and attunement to their child/ren, developing stronger relationships and improved communication and interaction, leading to better outcomes for children and their families.
We are looking for an accredited VIG practitioner or a trainee who has reached their Mid Point Review stage of training (continued supervision and support to work towards accreditation will be provided), to become part of the VIG Service for 2 days a week. This is a temporary appointment for 2 years. The post holder will be delivering VIG in West Cornwall and there may be a need to travel more widely.
The post holder will be required to deliver VIG interventions to families in complex situations through home visiting within the framework of VIG, developing specialist skills in engaging families and developing therapeutic relationships.
The post holder will become part of that families support network while delivering the intervention and will be required to contribute to multi-agency meetings and other support processes.
They will also contribute to the team improvement plan and evaluation process as part of the core VIG service.
