**About the role**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join us as an Industry Skills Business Admin Assistant, studying a** Level 3 Business Apprenticeship. **Our apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study, supporting you to gain the technical knowledge, practical experience and wider skills you need for your future career.
You'll work across our Hair & Beauty Salon and our new Harpurs Bistro Student Restaurant, supporting the day-to-day operational demands that come with the delivery of a high-quality experience and excellent customer service both to internal and external clients in our industry skills settings.
Supporting the team, you will have a key role in the storage and retrieval of information, communication, and monitoring as well as the booking in of clients and initial point of arrival customer service.
As well as experience of organising activities and events, you'll have good communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
**Principal accountabilities**:
- Support and process bookings via telephone/in person using the required system.
- Support and maintain records (eg: Excel, Office 365 programmes).
- Support with finance reporting and records, as well as stock control and monitoring.
- Support meetings including note taking and hospitality requirements and maintaining of attendee details.
- Support employer events as required.
- Support and arrange the distribution of stock items to other sites as required.
- Manage and arrange the distribution of student lockers and keys ensuring control is retained at all times.
- Complete safeguarding training and follow the Colleges policy.
- Any other duties commensurate to the role.

**Qualifications**:
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or willingness to undertake as part of the apprenticeship
**Experience**:
- Experience of organising events/activities
- Experience of note taking and creating actions with agreed timescales
- Experience of working as part of a team and dealing with customers
**Skills, knowledge & abilities**:
- Confident in a team environment and able to engage others
- Good communication skills
- Confident in developing internal and external professional relationships
- Able to articulate and produce written communications that are well structured
- Extremely organised and with excellent time management
- Have a methodical work approach/eye for detail and the ability to set high standards for self and others
- Confident in the use of MS Office and all associated database/software functions
**Business requirements**:
- Completed DBS check with child barred list
- Willingness to work flexibly and be responsive to business needs and customer expectations
- Willingness to positively respond to change and learn new challenges
- Ability to undertake occasional late/evening/weekend work at busy times
