**About the Museum**
The Haynes Motor Museum is a world renowned, multi award winning museum and visitor attraction located in South Somerset.
Our Vision is to inspire people to explore, discover and experience the motor vehicle, to empower them to learn and invite them to question.
Our Mission is to enable our audiences to experience and explore the motor vehicle’s development and the evolution of automotive design, engineering and technology. We will stimulate a desire to reflect on the motor car’s influence on social history and we will fuel a curiosity to consider how the motor vehicle and automotive technology might impact the world, its environment, and its people in the future.

The Museum and associated businesses are open 7 days a week, 362 days of the year. The café serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, and the Venue Hire business delivers daytime and evening events and functions both during the week and at weekends.
This is a fast paced environment and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is able to set exemplary standards which will complement the very high standards of service and product we currently deliver across all areas of the Museum.
**Job Description Duties & Responsibilities**
- To ensure that all external and internal areas of the Museum are well maintained
- Carrying out inspections of key areas within the Museum
- Supporting the Venue Hire team with room set up
- Ensuring both the building and car park areas are safe, clean and inviting at all times
- Basic tasks to include: plumbing, carpentry, painting and ground repairs
- Ensure that all rubbish bins are emptied and rubbish is disposed of or recycled correctly in the appropriate bins
- To report any maintenance issues to the line manager immediately
- Portable appliance testing
- Compliance checks
- Distribution of event road signs and events publicity
- General maintenance
- Astro turf maintenance, grass cutting and weeding
- Opening and closing of the Museum
**Essential Key Skills**
- Enthusiastic attitude with attention to detail and a sense of pride and ownership
- Always presentable with a polite and helpful manner
- Able to work independently but also take direction from others
- Work as part of a team to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is met at all times
- Must hold a full clean driving license due to location
- Must be organised and able to prioritise tasks required

**Hours & Structure**
40 hours per week working 5 days out of 7 - additional hours required during busy periods and to cover holiday. Some weekend availability will be needed. All staff at the Museum are engaged and supportive with a “nothing is too much trouble” approach.
