We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Lead. This is a valuable and technically stimulating opportunity to work within Edvance UK to support the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) projects which is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. SZC will be a replication project, based on HPC.

As part of the Responsible Designer, Edvance UK is responsible for the technical oversight of the design, manufacture and installation of Balance of Nuclear Island (BNI) and Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) pipework contracts on the HPC project.

As a Technical Lead, you will carry out the contract engineering activities relating to the pipework procurement contracts.

You will be reporting to the Contract Engineering Lead, and you will be supporting the contractor and client in resolving problems, and generally ensuring an acceptable design is delivered. This will continue with the oversight of manufacturing non-conformances, finally ensuring a successful delivery to site.

**What you’ll be doing**

**Your responsibility will include but will not be limited to**:

- Carrying out surveillance on supplier activities
- Contribute to defining the surveillance program
- Responding to technical queries
- Oversight of manufacturing non-conformances
- Ensuring a successful delivery to the site.

With the transfer of contract scopes moving from France to the UK, you will require collaboration with colleagues in France and a willingness to learn new topics.

**The Skills**

**Essential**:

- Experienced in piping design and specifications
- IT literate - able to manage activities on various platforms and ensure they are kept up-to-date
- Keen to learn and open to working on a variety of different activities
- Capable of producing technical specifications, including a sound understanding of nuclear processing regulations
- Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design
- Knowledge of RCC-M / ASME, EN standards
- Basic Knowledge of 3D design software

**Desirable**:

- French speaking is an advantage
- Understanding of nuclear power generation, and the specialities of nuclear technology
- Experience and understanding of design and manufacturing contract management, notably related to design and supply of pipework
