Digiflex Ltd is an established, Essex based, business specialising in global online retail. We sell a wide range of products online, from home and lifestyle accessories, to sports, pet, beauty, DIY and gardening items.

The business is in the early stages of an exciting growth phase which will in part be driven by a greater focus on new, innovative products, offering our customers great design at a fantastic price.

We are looking to recruit a Category Assistant on a permanent basis to join our Sales & Marketing department, based in Hockley, Essex.

This role will be responsible for a portfolio of products across a small number of unique categories. Objectives include the overall growth of the categories through maximising the potential of existing product lines, and the introduction of new products to meet the evolving needs of our customers. This role requires a good level of commercial acumen, a strong analytical skillset and a creative approach in addition to a range of soft skills.

The main responsibilities of your role would be to:

- Develop category-centred business plans with the objective of growing sales and strengthening market position.
- Maintain key data sources to ensure that performance is monitored on an ongoing basis, particularly against forecasts/objectives.
- Challenge the "Status Quo" identifying and implementing processes that require simplification, change or improvement.
- Have ownership of the category New Product Development (NPD) process from concept stage to delivery.
- Develop relationships with prospective and current suppliers to ensure the introduction of innovative, competitor beating, NPD.
- Regularly brief internal departments, such as Purchasing and QC/Compliance, in order to ensure that any impact of upcoming activity, including NPD, is managed throughout the business.
- Input into Marketing Plans with the objective of delivering category targets.

To be considered for this position, you must have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within an FMCG environment and have an understanding of new product introduction and quality procedures. You will also need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Accuracy and attention to detail in this role is a must, with good organisation and relationship building skills.

Supply chain training can be provided.
