We are looking for a Transport Coordinator for our Client based in Samlesbury on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Main duties will be ensuring that all operational activities are undertaken in a safe, legal, and cost-effective manner along with meeting operational KPIs and network objectives ensuring that we meet or exceed customer expectations.

Starting salary of £26,000.00 to raise to £28,000.00 once probationary period is complete.

The role will consist of carrying out general day-to-day duties relating to the transport function - including but not limited to:

- Daily face-to-face customer interaction with management and warehouse personnel
- Despatch drivers/loads
- Brief and debrief drivers
- Liaise with service providers to ensure vehicle maintenance standards are met
- Ensure EU driver legislations are adhered to.
- Provide updates on collections and deliveries to clients.
- Working unsupervised, managing your own time and priorities to meet tight deadlines.
- Data input and use of computer systems.
- Making bookings for deliveries to customers.
- Production of appropriate documentation
- General administration duties
- Dealing with queries and following an escalation process as required
- Record keeping
- Overseeing the trailer park on sight
- Adhering to all Health and Safety protocols on site
- Transport Planning or Operational experience preferred
- Experience with complex logistics operations ideal
- Industry knowledge of distribution, logistics and supply chain management
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (driver hours, vehicle weights etc. ) desirable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexible attitude to working hours, overtime frequently available.
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Good at task management and prioritisation
- Ability to lone work
- Team player
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Competent in standard PC suites i.e; office, excel, outlook
