_TD1 Engage is a new project funded by Young Start which is focused on working with young people who are in Primary 6 or 7 and are vulnerable, at risk or isolated. Undertaking an early intervention approach this project will use volunteers and in a peer support method will work in small groups and undertake groupwork which looks at their emotional and health well-being._

**Job Purpose**
- Leading the Engage project which uses groupwork to address the needs and issues of young people aged Primary 6 and 7, using peer youth volunteers to support effective change for young people. Working with partners you will be expected to demonstrate fulfilling the project outcomes

**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**
- Develop a referral based system which partners, parents and young people can self-refer for Primary 6 and 7 children.
- Organise a group of youth volunteers (aged 13-16) who will deliver peer support work to children
- Embed a peer support groupwork process into the project
- Develop strong partnerships with other organisations, especially cluster Primary Schools
- Understand the issues impacting young people’s lives and effective strategies to overcome these issues
- Record and log activities for young people’s achievement folders to achieve accreditation in Youth Achievement Awards, Dynamic Youth Awards, Saltire Awards or similar.
- To attend and make full use of Staff, Team, Board, Line Management and other organisational meetings, enabling good communication, personal & professional development and practice to develop.
- To undertake the preparation, administration and evaluation necessary to fulfil the duties of the post, organisation and project.
- To ensure the organisation and its work is run within the policies and guidelines set by the Board of Directors and other organisations that impact on the service delivery of the organisation
- To deliver face to face work drop-in sessions run within the policies and procedures provided.
- To provide support, supervision and guidance to sessional staff and volunteers involved in the project
- Attend appropriate training offered and seek additional training to enhance the service the organisation offers and contribute to your personal development plan.

**Educational Qualification**
- Qualification in community work or youth work at SCQF Level 5 / HNC / HND or degree level would be desirable, however not essential.

**Experience Required**
- Youth work experience - paid or voluntary essential
- Project Management Skills - essential
- Experience of understanding organisations which work with young people, in either a voluntary or statutory basis
- Demonstrate experience of strong organisational skills and working with others is essential

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months
Part-time hours: 21 per week

**Salary**: £14,633.00 per year
