Outreach Counsellor

EK Outreach Services is a provision for 5-25 years old who are not currently accessing education for a variety of reasons. Our vision is to find and nurture each young person’s unique abilities and interests, using a range of all our skills and facilities, to create a bespoke learning package for each individual.

We are looking for an experienced Counsellor to work with us in supporting both staff members and children and young people who are educated in a variety of venues outside of our centre, including in their own homes.

The counsellor role will involve working on a one-to-one basis, providing a professional and confidential counselling service for both staff members (to help support them to manage the difficulties they may be facing) and young people (to contribute to the promotion of good emotional health and wellbeing). The Outreach Counsellor will develop a range of therapeutic interventions to encourage confidence, independence, reflection and resilience in our young people, whilst supporting them with their concerns.

Flexibility and previous experience working with students with special needs are essential for this role.
