Main Duties To assist with the smooth day-to-day running and completion of this research project by supporting the project manager and the PI. To assist in the recruitment of participants to assess the eligibility of potential participants. To explain clearly and in detail the study to participants and to answer their queries regarding the research. To obtain consent from participants who wish to take part in the staff qualitative study.

To assist with the conduct of or to conduct sensitive semi-structured research interviews with participants as required to explore, elicit and analyse information relating to the research study. To monitor blinding procedures and ensure blinding is maintained. To adhere to the service specification and quality standards of NHS trust policies, particularly relating to confidentiality and risk, and to also oversee programme policies in relation to confidentiality and risk. To ensure that ethics procedures and HRA/ R and I governance procedures are followed.

To conduct systematic literature reviews and use an appropriate quality appraisal tool. To assist with the running of the study service user reference/PPI group To assist in the preparation of publications, conference and other PowerPoint presentations and dissemination materials. Data collection and management To contribute towards the accurate collection, entry and management of data using SPSS and/or Excel To retrieve complex data from relevant (quantitative) databases and analyse research outcomes to produce summary reports on research activity for a variety of purposes including updating the research team and trial steering and data management committees To be responsible for the safe keeping of data files including medical notes To assist with the analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and interpretation of the results of the research if required To provide suitable results tables, graphs and figures Planning, management and other duties To form and maintain close working relationships with other members of the research team and to liaise with University and NHS staff as required To assist with the promotion of the research to staff, service users and other relevant stakeholders To liaise with research colleagues and support administrative staff on routine matters. To assist in servicing the studys meetings, including production of agendas, writing of minutes and reports and taking follow-up action as required To participate in regular supervision To identify appropriate training to support professional development.

To act in a professional manner and with appropriate behaviour at all times. To undertake specific administrative duties as required To act under the guidance of the project manager to ensure that daily tasks and ongoing workloads are prioritised and completed within agreed timeframes. To help the research team achieve research objective and deadlines. To report any concerns raised by study participants to the project manager/PI.

To understand and comply with all Trust policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. To understand the Trusts Strategic Goals and how the post holder can support them. To understand the need to safeguard children and vulnerable adults and adhere to all principles in effective safeguarding. To carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with Equal Opportunities, Equality and Diversity and dignity in care/work policies and principles To avoid unlawful discriminatory behaviour and actions when dealing with the colleagues, service users, members of the public and all stakeholders To access only information, when paper, electronic or, in another media, which is authorised to the post holder as part of the duties of their role.

Not to communicate to anyone or inside or outside of the NHS information relating to patients, service users, staff, contractors or any information of a commercially sensitive nature, unless done in the normal course of carrying out the duties of the post and with appropriate permission To maintain high standards of quality in corporate and clinical record keeping ensuring information is always recorded accurately, appropriately and kept up to date. To ensure their day-to-day activities embrace sustainability and reduce the impact upon the environment by minimising and maximising recycling, saving energy, minimising water usage and reporting electrical faults, water leakages or other environmental concerns to the facilities department or their line manager. To take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and other persons To contribute to the control of risk and to report any incident, accident and near miss. To protect service users, visitors and employees against the risk of acquiring health care associated infections.
