We are looking for a very special person to lead classes in our baby development programme in the Eglinton /Derry/Londonderry area. Baby Sensory provides weekly classes that create a self-supporting community for parents and their babies. You will be leading varied activities in each session in accordance with our detailed lesson plans and providing developmental information so that parents understand the value to their babies’ learning and development.

You will be required to set up and breakdown the equipment before and after each class. It is essential that our equipment is regularly cleaned and always presented to a high standard in order to retain the reputation that Baby Sensory has developed throughout the UK and further afield. The classes are great fun to facilitate and provide an amazing opportunity to watch and enjoy young babies’ development in their first year.

We have a high focus on customer satisfaction and deliver our classes to a very high standard which we expect all our staff to adhere to.

Available to work a minimum of 3 mornings per week: 12 hours (plus several Saturday or Sundays per year for seasonal events )

Travel between venues: e.g. Eglinton Community Hall, Acorn Centre & Irish Street Community Centre

Full clean driving licence

Own car that is able to transport equipment between venues.

Have a place to store the equipment

⭐️Duties and responsibilities

Set up, clean and clear away equipment before, during and after classes.

Welcome parents/carers to the classes and encourage their integration in the Setting.

Contribute to the planned programme of sensory activities suitable for the development of babies aged birth to 13 months.

Be aware of the high profile of the classes and to uphold standards by adhering to all policies and procedures.

Work alongside other class leader to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled.

Respect the confidentiality of information received.

Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.

Be aware of child protection procedures and report to the relevant member of staff any concerns.

Maintain good relationships with colleagues and work together as a team.

Prepare and make any props for weekly classes

Help with online marketing through posting on social media pages

Keep in contact with customers on a weekly basis using company mobile phone.

Encourage and help parents with any queries

Ensure registers are kept up to date

Manage petty cash and purchase any sundries.

Ensure all equipment is cleaned in line with cleaning procedures.

There is a comprehensive training programme where you will start by assisting me in running classes, gaining an unbelievable uderstanding of session management.

You MUST be able to attend both days of online training with our Head Office on 17th & 18th September via Zoom, you will not be on zoom the full time but times will be confirmed. There will be offline study along side interactive zoom calls. This will only be after displaying the required attributes of reliability, self-motivation and confidence and also completing pre-training days at Baby Sensory classes in Eglinton & the Acorn Centre. Your employment will start 26th August. You will assist in class, in set ups and running classes. If you achieve a pass at HO training you will start to lead activities in classes and finally be running your own classes from late November 23. (Start date to be finalised and discussed). You will need to teach 40 lesson plans in their entirety within a 12 month period to be considered fully trained so a high level of commitment is essential. After a year you will be able to deliver more advanced lesson plans.

As a Class Leader in training you will earn £8.75 per hour. This will rise to £12 per hour once you have successfully completed HO training and become a Class Leader in late November
