We are currently looking to recruit a Catering & Retail Assistant to work **every Monday, Thursday and Sunday** within our fun and passionate team here at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm.

We are looking for someone that can provide a warm welcome and friendly efficient service to all our visitors. If you have a flair for providing outstanding customer service, then we want to hear from you.

You will be leading the food barn and catering outlets on a Sunday, so previous experience in a supervisor's role is essential to this position.

**Some of your responsibilities will be (but not limited to)**:

- Responsible for the daily management of the day-to-day running of the catering team in the Catering Manager's absence.
- To manage the catering team's operation of all tills, including cash and card transactions, monitoring for security and great customer service.
- Provide a warm welcome and friendly efficient service to all our visitors, ensuring that all staff are doing the same.
- Take customer orders, payments and manage the tills.
- To deal with customer complaints and queries politely and efficiently.
- Barista trained, aa will be making a multitude of hot drinks in the food barn, catering kiosks and farm shop - full training will be given.
- Assist in the record keeping of staff development, stock ordering and rota's on excel and word programmes, plus working with other IT programmes.
- To ensure cash, till receipts and records are delivered to the Duty Manager on duty each day.
- Oversee the security of the food barn and other catering outlets, including kiosks, ensuring they are left safe and locked securely when closing each day.

**Other responsibilities could include**:

- To drive the catering buggy as required, to move stock to other catering outlets and kiosks around the site.
- Supporting and training, leading from the front to make sure everyone can excel in their role.
- To work in the farm shop and zoo's gift shop as requested (as they both form part of the catering & retail team).
- To keep all records and checks up to date in the food barn and catering outlets, to oversee and sign off catering assistants work including training and day-to-day duties.
- Experience of leading a team in a supervisors role.
- Experience of working in a customer-facing role in either a catering / retail environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Competency in Excel and Word programmes.
- Till trained and cash handling experience.
- Ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
- Proven track record of leading and developing others.
- Driving licence.
