Fire, Health & Safety Officer

We’re currently looking for full time Fire, Health & Safety Officers to join our knowledgeable and established Fire Safety team here at Harrods. This is a position within the team, designed to promote a positive fire health and safety culture within all Harrods properties.

About the Role

The Fire, Health & Safety Officer role will include patrolling and carrying out duties independently within a very busy environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accurate functioning of all fire alarm systems and mitigate any unwanted fire alarm activations. The Fire Officer will also be the point of contact, liaising with the fire brigade and other external agencies as and when needed. You will communicate effectively with the Fire, Health and Safety team to foster a collaborative work environment.

The role also necessitates a 4 on 4 off shift pattern that may include working at other Company premises and will include weekends, night work, Bank Holidays or Public Holidays as normal days of work. Additionally, extra hours and/or days of work maybe required and/or changed by the department, but with adequate notice (typically 48 hours) and therefore, a flexible approach is needed.

About You

As Fire, Health & Safety Officer you will possess an interest in Fire, Health and Safety and will ideally have worked in a similar setting, whether working in control rooms or handling the maintenance of safety equipment. You will have a thorough understanding of fire alarm systems and have knowledge/experience in servicing extinguishers and permit systems (e.g. Hot Works).

You will also:
- Have good physical fitness and ability to carry out strenuous tasks (e.g. lift heavy items).- Have a proactive and can-do attitude with an ability to remain calm under pressure and think on your feet.- Be a team player, flexible and follow instructions effectively.- Be passionate about ensuring the highest level of Fire Safety within Harrods and working collaboratively to guarantee this is always upheld across all projects.- Be accountable and have a problem-solving attitude.
