**About the role**:
**Other duties will include**:

- Support the Head of Health, Safety & Environment to implement the health and safety management system, policy and arrangements within Sense Scotland.
- Provide health and safety advice, guidance and support to managers and staff where required.
- Contribute to any development, implementation and review of health and safety policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and an ability to work well within a team as well as be capable of working on your own initiative.
- Carry out Health and Safety training and support the development of any new training required.
- Maintain the health and safety systems for Safeguarding, accident/incidents, RIDDOR reports, pre-planned maintenance and insurance claims trackers.
- Support the Head of Health, Safety & Environment by contributing to the Annual Health and Safety Report and National Health and Safety Forum.
- Support cross functional meetings as required by the Facilities and H&S Team.
- Support the maintenance of a positive health and safety culture across the organisation that aligns with our culture and values.
- Carry out any additional and appropriate duties within the role of Health and Safety Officer including travel to different services and offices where required.
- Be accountable for your own actions and personal and professional development. Be aware of and act in accordance with Sense Scotland’s Conditions of Service and all relevant legislation.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonable requested by your line management or senior management in line with the grading of your post.

**This is a full time permanent post offering 37 hours per week. Occasional weekend or evening work to respond to emergency issues. Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days in the office.**

**To be considered for this role you must**:

- Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred) or equivalent or as a minimum IOSH Managing Safely
- Experience in a similar role across multiple sites
- Work well with a team and on own initiative
- Able to organise own workload in line with priorities set
- Be an effective communicator
- Computer literate (MS Office, Word, Excel etc / Outlook 365)
- Be willing to travel to Sense Scotland sites across Scotland
- Have experience of working within social care
- Be available for occasional weekend or evening work to respond to emergency issues
- Hold a full driving licence
- A disclosure check will be required
