This role will work as part of the Income, Planning, Costing and Contracting team to ensure the accurate recording and billing of the Trust’s patient care income, as well as the production of national costing and planning returns. This includes working closely with the Trust Contracts department and Private Patient and Overseas Visitor Income team.

An assessment will be completed before starting to ascertain what Level Numeracy, Literacy and ICT you are currently working at to ensure you are eligible to undertake an apprentice programme.
As part of this post you will be expected to undertake the AAT qualification commencing at level 2 progressing to levels 3 and 4.
- Support the Income & Financial Planning Accountant to ensure that the Trust has processes in place for all income due to the Trust under its contracts and other agreements for patient activity;
- Assist in the production of accurate, timely and high calibre reports of the Trust’s income position for inclusion in formal reports to the Trust’s Finance Committee and Board, for internal management and for commissioners;
- Identify and report to the Income and Financial Planning Accountant any income risks and opportunities;
- Help to prepare prompt and accurate responses to commissioner queries, seeking support and advice where required;
- To liaise with NHS and non-NHS organisations in the supply of financial and non-financial information to assist in ensuring the timely receipt of income.
- Liaise with the Accounts Receivable team to accurately and promptly invoice over-performance and non-contract items and recover all debts due.

If successful after interview, an initial assessment (BKSB) must be completed within 2 weeks of receiving the conditional offer to ascertain you are eligible to undertake an apprentice programme.

The Finance Apprentice position will be for a 36 month fixed term period.
