Driver engagement and management is essential to ensure best in class service delivery.
To conduct Preventative maintenance (PPM’s), ad-hoc repairs, projects & continuous improvements on fixed (conveyors, trommels, shakers) and mobile plant (360 excavators, shovel loaders, Telehandlers) at Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRF’s) in Leicester and Northampton.
This is a hands-on role, and you will be responsible for the planned and reactive mechanical maintenance of the Plant within the MRF, always, adhering to strict and Health and Safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM’s) on all plant and equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, eliminating unplanned down time.
- To carry out equipment breakdowns effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure that programmed work is completed on time to the satisfaction of business requirement.
- Working to Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality standards applicable to the process.
- Maintaining & reviewing standard operating procedures as required.
- Maintaining conveyors, bearings & gearboxes to Original Equipment Manufacturers OEM standards.
- Effective and economical control of critical spares stock for all key processes.
- Adhere to safe working practices and procedures including and not limited to lockout, tag out and working at heights etc, inclusive of Permit to Work (PTW) adherence for high-risk tasks.
- Develop and adhere to service and maintenance schedules of plant vehicles and machinery
- Assist where necessary with minor Fleet repairs as required.
Knowledge And Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an engineer.
- A working knowledge of plant & machinery.
- Relevant qualifications & experience in welding, mechanical and or electrical engineering.
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace and legal compliance associated with the maintenance and repair of fixed installations.
- Exceptional Organizational and time management skills.
- Good at information seeking and handling.
- Problem solving and fault diagnosis.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritise own workload.
- Excellent internal and external customer service and oral/written communication skills.
- Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft products.
- Full and current UK driving license.
