Import and Export Coordinator

**Job Purpose**
- To process the daily administration of HMR&C documentation pertaining to the import and export of goods.
- Work with both Muirhead and Customer freight forwarders to plan and schedule deliveries/collections ensuring optimum service levels are received at all times.
- To assist with the movement of controlled items in and out of the UK, maintaining compliance with UK HMRC, Department for International Trade and US, EU export control regulations.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
- Support the Logistics team to plan the movement of materials in and out of the business in order to meet import and export regulations and operational requirements.
- Assist the Export Compliance Manager with the following duties:

- Maintaining the filing system for export licences and HMR&C records.
- Maintain export control and HMR&C data within the internal ERP system including accurate classification of controlled goods.
- The upkeep of computerised part number records in relation to controlled goods.
- Participate in audits for the above and deal with any audit findings.
- Undertake daily review and release of export held shipping headers in the ERP system. Ensure correct procedures are applied for the release of controlled goods.
- Undertake effective planning to capture and record all relevant import and export data in excel, for the purpose of submitting the quarterly IPR (inward processing relief) report to HMR&C.
- Attend daily tier meetings to raise/discuss any issues.
- To support the Goods In, Despatch and Stores Inspection areas as required.

**Qualifications and Experience**

Qualifications:

- Numerate and literate - minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent)

**Experience**:

- Computer literate (confident Excel user); be accurate with computer data entry, with excellent attention to detail (essential)
- Shipping of hazardous goods by air/sea/road (desirable)
- Prior knowledge of Export Control & HMR&C procedures (IPR/OPR) and a working understanding of UK and US Export Licencing (preferable, training provided)
