Overview:
Working as part of operations team and reporting to the Operations / Production Manager in one of the various NDT laboratories across Element, the
**NDT Operator** is responsible for set up and testing of various parts utilising a multitude of non destructive tests depending on the product type and manufacturing specifications and or customer specifications. The NDT Operator is qualified to level 2 in at least one of the relevant NDT methods, able to operate without direct supervision in accordance with International, National standards and Element NDT procedures. The NDT Operator will also participate and contribute to a number of core business initiatives and policies including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working as part of an NDT inspection team across 8-hour rotating shift patterns to test various parts such as castings and forgings and welds
- Working as a team under the direction of the Operations Manager to ensure customer deadlines are met in a timely fashion including shared overtime where required
- Working to implement and develop specific NDT techniques under the guidance of Company appointed Level 3 and Technical Managers
- Working in accordance with Element testing procedures and written instructions, interpretation of national and international standards
- Assisting and conducting routine quality checks of testing equipment in accordance with approved procedures
- Working under guidance of Company appointed Level 3 and Technical Management to ensure continued professional development, certificate renewal / recertification and further qualification through structured training in multiple NDT methods
- Attending daily SQDC meetings and contributing to overall Element fundamentals improvement via suggestion and implementation of initiatives
- Participating in 5S initiatives and following good housekeeping practices
- Handling of customer parts and materials using assorted lifting equipment such as cranes, forklift trucks in accordance with approved lifting plans and manual handling procedures
- Adhering to Element safety and quality management systems and being and active participant in a strong safety and quality culture

Skills / Qualifications:

- Qualified to Level 2 in at least non complex NDT methods with Magnetic Particle and Penetrant Testing in accordance with EN4179 / NAS410
- At least 1-2 years Aerospace NDT experience
- Experience in at least one product form such as Castings, Forgings, Welds
- Experience working within an engineering and / or Laboratory environment
- Good general standard of education particularly in English and Maths
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work overtime where demand requires additional capacity
- At least 1-2 years Aerospace NDT experience
- Experience working within an engineering and / or Laboratory environment
- Good general standard of education particularly in English and Maths
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work overtime where demand requires additional capacity
