Lead Procurement Officer

**About Us**
***About the role**
The Lead Procurement Officer is responsible for procurement and delivery of a complex and innovative product set for a portfolio of projects to meet Ocado Solutions requirements for key customers in the UK and overseas. The products you will be focusing on in this role will predominantly be electromechanical products and/or systems. You will be responsible for achieving optimum cost, highest quality whilst dealing with short lead time requirements and an ongoing changing set of requirements. You will proactively establish and manage the engagement and supply chain related communications with all internal and external stakeholders.
The role is within a small team, where autonomy is the preferred way of working with regular catch ups and support provided when needed.
***Accountabilities include;**
- Manage relationships between 3rd Party Suppliers and the Ocado project team
- Responsibility for key product stream within Ocado Technology - both first and second tier suppliers
- Development, coordination and management of key suppliers
- Reporting relevant supplier KPIs and driving performance
- Ensure delivery schedules stay on plan, budget and meet specified Quality standards
- Expanding Supplier base to satisfy international and scaling requirements of future business needs.
- Risk identification and mitigation, anticipating supply chain challenges
- Taking ownership of supply issues, resolving them in line with business need
- Recommending and implementing process improvements to improve Supply Chain robustness.
- Communicating with project stakeholders to ensure alignment of projects and expectations.
- Driving best practice in Supply Chain and deliver continuous improvement
**Although based at our Hertfordshire head office, you will be expected to travel to sites both in the UK and abroad**

- Good track record of component or equipment sourcing and supply chain scaling within Europe and worldwide
- Strong experience of legal contract management
- Proven track record in effective supplier development and management
- Strong experience of sourcing and procuring electro mechanical equipment/systems in Engineering environment
- Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering company procurement strategies
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Highly developed supplier management experience
- Strong experience in Supply Chain delivery based on Project Management deliverables and processes
- Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and ERP software
