**About the Role**:
Queens Park Group Surgery_ _has an opportunity for a prescribing clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offered on a full-time basis and is based at the Village Medical Centre.

Work with the prescribing team and other members of the surgery and healthcare professionals to provide a first-class prescribing service to our patients. Provide the first point of contact for patients and other stakeholders/ and provide excellent administrative support.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Process routine prescription requests within 48 hours of receipt
- Manage prescription queries accordingly
- Receive calls from our prescription telephone line from patients
- Liaise with the prescribing clinical team on any areas of concern.
- Liaise with the medicine management team relating to routine queries
- Ensure that actions are taken where permitted to improve the repeat prescribing process.
- Receive, check and print repeat prescription requests.
- Ensure that patients are notified immediately of any medication changes.
- Check workflows/tasks daily to ensure backlog is kept to a minimum and notify relevant staff
- Receiving and making telephone calls as requested
- Dealing with queries regarding services offered by the practice
- Arranging appointments for medicals and other non-routine appointments
- Directing patients to the appropriate healthcare professional within the Practice, e.g. Doctor, Specialist Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant
- Calling patients to arrange for routine appointments, e.g. for immunizations, asthma checks, diabetes checks etc

- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Good standard of general education
- NHS or medical/healthcare experience preferred
